World Tug of War Championships

The University of Nottingham, in conjunction with the Tug of War Association of England will play host to the Tug of War International Federation (TWIF) 2025 World Tug of War Championships which will also incorporate the world junior and under 23 Tug of War Championships in the event. The four-day competition will take place at the University of Nottingham’s Highfields Sports Complex. As part of the partnership, competitors will be housed at the main University Campus, with family, friends and support teams having access to special rates at The Orchard and The Jubilee hotels, as well as being able to enjoy the Bramleys and Spokes Café at the respective venues and events at the East Midlands Conference Centre.

Officially Europe’s biggest traveling fair, the Goose Fair is a year event that both residents and tourists flock to every single year. It’s different every year, but with over 700 years of history under its belt it’s had time to perfect the event – and it really has. Robin Hood Half Marathon

Nottingham's favourite running festival will return on Sunday 28 September 2025. The 2024 event broke records across the board, with more than 11,500 entries resulting in the highest number of participants to date and a surge in first-time runners.
The first ever Robin Hood runners took to the streets in 1981, and since then the event has become a firm favourite in the race calendar for thousands across the country. In the past decade alone, over 100,000 runners have laced up, taken to the 13.1 mile course and proudly collected their finishers’ medal.

Nottingham Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival

The legacy of Nottingham’s official Robin Hood will be honoured at this year’s Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival, which returns from Wednesday 8 to Saturday 11 October. 2025 marks the fifth year the event has been staged at the historic home of Nottinghamshire CCC, with the venue’s concourses set to play host once again to over 600 beers and 100 ciders & perries from the country and county’s most celebrated brewers including Blue Monkey, Lincoln Green, Castle Rock, Batemans, Lenton Lane and Shipstone’s.
